This summer house on the coast of Sjælland, Denmark, is a serene retreat immersed in nature. Designed with restraint and reverence for its surroundings, the home is crafted from locally sourced wood and stone, quietly echoing the rhythm of the forest and the flow of the nearby sea.
Rooted in the Scandinavian tradition of simplicity and harmony, the architecture dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior. Expansive glass façades open the living space to the pine forest and coastal horizon, allowing light and landscape to shape the atmosphere throughout the day.

The use of local stone in the flooring and hearth grounds the space, while warm-toned timber softens the palette, bringing a gentle material richness to the minimal design.
A sunken lounge area anchors the open-plan living room, encouraging informal gatherings and intimate connection. Built-in shelving and seating blend seamlessly into the stone platform, enhancing functionality while preserving aesthetic clarity. Natural ventilation, passive solar design, and thermal mass create year-round comfort with minimal environmental impact.
More than a house, this is a habitat a quiet place for reflection, deeply attuned to its context. It reflects a lifestyle where architecture supports slowness, well-being, and a profound connection to the landscape. A true celebration of coastal Danish living.
